As long as life goes on, so do we
Anastasia Mikhalova
Kharkiv-
Prague
As a child, like many girls, little Nastya wanted to become an actress: “I often imagined going on stage and receiving loud applause from the hall.“ But later she realised that she wanted to give people joy, yet in a different way - by helping them understand, accept and love themselves. So she decided to become a psychologist. And so, she became one.
In Ukraine, in Kharkiv, for Anastasia there were two centres for children with special needs. She worked at both as a child & family psychologist. “When I came to the Czech Republic, I realised that there is a great need for such centres here, because many Ukrainian women with special children came into the country when fleeing the war. And here it is probably even more acute than in Ukraine, because mothers found themselves alone with their problems in a foreign country.”
Anastasia initiated the creation of a centre for children with special needs in Prague. In this way, she helped not only these families, but also many other Ukrainian women. She was able to provide them with jobs. In two months Anastasia managed to assemble a large team of specialists from different parts of Ukraine and meantime also continues to work as a psychologist with adults.
Anastasia is quite philosophical about her future when asked: "What's next?" "Next is life. As long as it continues, we continue - in our manifestations, ambitions, perceptions."
