Lileia Kliatsevych
Kyjev-
Prague
As a child, Lileia did not think about a specific profession, but she always knew that she wanted to work with people, make an impact, travel a lot, do some outstanding things. Maybe even perform on stage, but not necessarily as a singer or an artist. When barely learning to walk, Lileia was already holding concerts for relatives. Then at school she actively organized various events, excursions, and competitions.
In her adult life, Lileia continued to develop in this direction. She worked as a marketing, PR, and communications manager. Among other things, she organised festivals, taught people, was a speaker at various events, so she returned to the stage more than once. Arriving in the Czech Republic, she could not immediately continue working in her field, because such work requires knowledge of the Czech language at a proficient level. So Lileia began to seek out other opportunities.
"I received several grants for various educational programs and internships, not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. Often, the selection for programs was crazy, hundreds of people for just one place. Not all training was online, so for some programs I travelled to another city, spending 6 hours a day on the road three times a week," says Lileia.
But thanks to this investment in herself, it was possible to change her profession radically. Now she works in IT in a large Czech company as a test analyst. This resourceful woman continues to develop and study intensively. Now, for example, she is learning two programming languages and further IT technologies. Her development is monitored by mentors from different countries - England, Germany, Estonia. She also continues her studies in two language courses: she studies Japanese and Polish. Lileia spends at least 40 hours a week on her studies, often even more, sleeping very little. Such a schedule is not easy to endure, but she understands why she needs it. Her family that has remained in Ukraine depends on her. She also wants to support her partner who has been defending Ukraine in the ranks of the army since the beginning of the full-scale war.
"The future never comes 'for free', and often for success you need to sacrifice your time, rest, and sometimes a quiet lunch. But fortunately, we and only we can decide what our life will be like. It can be changed at any age or any life situation. Even if others don't believe in you, the most important thing is that you believe in yourself. Everything depends only on us. And if my story inspires someone, at least a little, to reach for their goal and never give up, I will be very happy."
